A photographer who is going through a difficult time looks for answers through the eyes of his girlfriend by looking into his own mind. Nicolas Yarna, a well-known fashion photographer, has challenges in his creative process throughout the course of the story told in Where Are You. Nicolas is now adrift and lonely until he receives a startling phone call from an unknown source. This call leads Nicolas on a journey that resembles a fever dream as he searches for his girlfriend, Matilda. Because of this, Nicolas is compelled to uncover his own reality, a truth that he was once famous for capturing in the acclaimed photographs that he took.
