The first trailer from The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel miniseries that Netflix will produce, has been made accessible for viewing on December 25th and has been made available online by the streaming service.

In the clip from Blood Origin, Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, and Laurence O’Fuarain play the roles of the film’s three main protagonists.

In the clip, Yeoh’s character, Scan, provides O’Fuarain and Brown’s characters with a lesson by defeating them in a one-on-two battle sequence. During this fight, the actress nominated for a Golden Globe had the opportunity to demonstrate her expertise in martial arts.

The Witcher: Blood Origin Trailer

The protagonists of The Witcher: Blood Origin will be portrayed by three different actors. Vikings alum Laurence O’Fuarain will play Fjall, a character who hails from a clan of warriors sworn to protect a King; Michelle Yeoh (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will play Scan, the last member of the nomadic tribe of sword-elves; and Sophia Brown (Giri/Haji, Marcella).

The events of the limited series, which will consist of six episodes, will take place in an elf world 1,200 years before those of the main series. The synopsis states, “It tells the story lost to time – the development of the prototype Witcher,” which is exactly what the movie does. “And the events that led up to the crucial ‘conjunction of the spheres,’ when the worlds of monsters, mankind, and elves all blended into one.

Minnie Driver, Lenny Henry, Mirren Mack, Nathaniel Curtis, Dylan Moran, Jacob Collins-Levy, Huw Novelli, Francesca Mills, Zach Wyatt, Lizzie Annis, and Amy Murray are going to be appearing in the film as well. They will be joining the primary stars.

Declan de Barra, who is also serving as the showrunner, will be responsible for the executive producer of The Witcher: Blood Origin. Sarah O’Gorman and Vicky Jewson are going to helm this project as directors.

The showrunner for The Witcher, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Hivemind’s Jason Brown and Sean Daniel, and Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Films serve as executive producers for this project. Andrzej Sapkowski, a well-known Polish author, has agreed to work on the series as a creative consultant.
