During tonight’s Game Awards celebrations, a new clip from The Super Mario Bros. Movie was shown off. This film showed fans Mario and Toad’s relationship as they explored the Mushroom Kingdom.

The plot summary for the movie describes how a plumber named Mario and his brother Luigi go on an adventure through an underground maze to rescue a princess who has been kidnapped.

Chris Pratt plays the role of Mario in the movie. Anya Taylor-Joy portrays Princess Peach, Charlie Day plays Luigi, Jack Black plays Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key plays Toad, Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen plays Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson plays Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco plays Spike.

Aaron Horvath is directing The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Michael Jelenic, who worked together on the film Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. The screenplay for the movie was written by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru).

Producers Chris Meledandri, creator and CEO of Illumination, and Shigeru Miyamoto, a legend at Nintendo, are working on the project. Both Nintendo and Universal Pictures are providing co-financing for the project.
