The Essex Serpent Releasing Date

In conjunction with The Essex Serpent, which will premiere on Apple TV+ in the fall, the company has released the official trailer. The Essex Serpent will star Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston. The first two episodes of the series are scheduled to air on May 13th, with the rest of the season to follow.

 The Essex Serpent trailer, which you can see above, follows a widow as she attempts to uncover the truth behind rumors of the existence of a mythical beast that has been terrorizing the residents of a small town. It also focuses on the forbidden romance that develops between the widow and the pastor of the small town.

Cora, a newly widowed woman who has recently been released from an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex, intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as The Essex Serpent has returned to the area, according to the synopsis of the miniseries.

Clio Barnard (Dark River) directs The Essex Serpent, which is based on a screenplay written by Anna Symon and directed by Barnard (Mrs. Wilson). Frank Dillane, Hayley Squires, Jamael Westman, Clémence Poésy, Dixie Egerickx, and Michael Jibson will appear alongside Danes and Hiddleston in the film.

Among those involved in the six-episode series adaptation are Barnard, Symon, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, and Emile Sherman, as well as Andrea Cornwell, who will serve as executive producer. It is produced by See-Saw Films for Apple TV+ and is available on the streaming service.
