Sneakerella: For all intents and purposes, this silly-looking Disney+ original is a gender-swapped version of the classic Cinderella story, in which a young Black man on the streets of New York designs his own magical glass slippers – now in the form of multicolored sneakers – in order to romance the girl of his dreams, who happens to be the daughter of a famous sneaker magnate.

The plot and trailer are really kitschy, harking back to the heyday of Disney Channel original movies in the 2000s, which have now morphed into Disney+ originals. Sneakerella is a film starring Chosen Jacobs as the title character El, as well as Lexi Underwood, Devyn Nekoda, and John Salley.
