A brand new trailer for the long-awaited animated sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish has been published by Universal Pictures. The film, which has Antonio Banderas reprising his role as the titular cat, may be viewed below. On December 21, the movie will, at long last, be released in theaters.

The purpose of this film is to show Puss’ mission to wish back some of his nine lives after discovering that he is already down to his last one. This discovery first caused him to retire to a cat lady’s home.

Mark Swift is producing the film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado in a collaborative effort. They have all previously collaborated on the film The Croods: A New Age, which was released in 2021.

The plot summary states that “the sequel will once again follow Puss in Boots as he realizes that his thirst for adventure has taken its toll,” which is exactly what the sequel will do. “He has used up eight of his nine lives, leaving him with only one life remaining.”

Puss embarks on a harrowing quest to locate the legendary Last Wish and regain his nine lives.

Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek Pinault, Harvey Guillén, Florence Pugh, Jack Horner, John Mulaney, Wagner Moura, Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone, Samson Kayo, Anthony Mendez, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph provide their voices for the animated picture.

Between 2001 and 2010, the Shrek franchise generated over $3 billion in revenue. The Puss in Boots spin-off that was released in 2011 brought in an additional $555 million at box offices throughout the world. Additionally, it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
