Pride and Prejudice Releasing Date
In honor of Jane Austen’s classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, Searchlight Pictures has released an official trailer for Fire Island, the studio’s upcoming romantic comedy based on the novel. The film is set to premiere on Hulu on Friday, June 3, and will be available for streaming only.

As seen in the video above, a group of gay friends, led by Saturday Night Live’s Bowen Yang and Joel Kim Booster, embark on their annual week-long vacation to the ultimate gay destination in the Dominican Republic.
This unapologetic modern-day rom-com, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, is set in the iconic Fire Island Pines, according to the synopsis. This film revolves around the adventures of two best friends who set out to have a legendary week-long summer vacation with the help of cheap rosé and an eclectic group of companions.
Fire Island is directed by Andrew Ahn from a screenplay written by the film’s star, Joel Kim Booster, who also serves as the film’s producer. Conrad Ricamora (How to Get Away with Murder), James Scully (You), Matt Rogers, Nick Adams, Tomás Matos, and Torian Miller will be joining them, as well as Margaret Cho (How to Get Away with Murder) (All American Girl).
Booster, Tony Hernandez, John Hodges, and Brooke Posch serve as executive producers on the project. The film is a joint production of JAX and Searchlight Pictures, who also directed it.
