Oswald the Lucky Rabbit reprises his role as Disney’s initial mascot in a brand-new animated short produced and distributed by the company for the first time in almost 95 years.
This brand new hand-drawn animation short sees Oswald traveling to a movie theater, where he meets Ortensia the Cat, who plays the lead role in the movie, and falls in love with her.
Due in large part to the rights issue that has surrounded the character for the better part of four decades, this is the first Oswald short that Disney has produced.
Eric Goldberg was the one who directed the short film, while Dorothy McKim was the one who produced it. Goldberg, Mark Henn, and Randy Haycock were the animators who contributed to the project.

Walt Disney created the character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in the year 1927. Disney and Ub Iwerks were both responsible for the character’s design; however, in 1928, Universal acquired the rights to Oswald, which prompted Disney to develop the renowned character Mickey Mouse.
The Walt Disney Company purchased the rights to use Oswald in 2006, resulting in the character making cameos in video games such as the Epic Mickey series and animated shorts like Get a Horse.
