The process that Naughty Dog went through to rebuild The Last of Us Part I
The last of us: In a brand new video titled “Features,” Naughty Dog discusses many graphical and gameplay-related enhancements.
According to Co-President Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us Part I on PS5 will feature a host of gameplay and presentation enhancements that will bring the game closer to its original vision.
These enhancements will bring the game closer to its original vision by bringing the game closer to its original vision.
You can get more information by watching a new video that was produced by Naughty Dog. In it, Creative Director Shaun Escayg and Game Director Matthew Gallant discuss the numerous tweaks and improvements that have been made to the game.
Even though The Last of Us Part I is capable of rendering Native 4K at targeted 30 FPS or dynamic 4K at targeted 60 FPS*, and even though it features PS5 mainstays like DualSense wireless controller haptics, trigger effects, and 3D audio**, it is abundantly clear that there is a lot more going on here than just a simple resolution and framerate bump; rather, it is a complete overhaul.
The entire game, from the art direction to the character models, has been redesigned from the ground up to make use of a new generation of graphical capability.
This has made it possible for the game to achieve the level of visual fidelity that the development studio aimed for when they were crafting this experience.
The powerful technology of the PlayStation 5 drives a plethora of visual enhancements, including deeper physics with loads of bumpables and chipables (bullets may now break apart concrete and other surrounding objects), and cinematics that seamlessly segue into gameplay.
Character animations created with motion matching technology flow more convincingly, intuitively, and realistically. This adds an additional element of authenticity to the characters and their interactions with the world.
In addition, AI updates ensure that characters live the world in a manner that is more genuine and realistic. For example, buddy characters will navigate cover in a manner that is more genuine in order to avoid the sightlines of hostile NPCs.
The purpose of all of the modifications is to deepen the player’s immersion in the experience of playing the game; nevertheless, the improvements do not end there.
Naughty Dog listened to feedback from their community and implemented several features that were requested by players.
These features include a “permadeath” option, a mode centered on speedruns, and a variety of brand-new unlockable costumes for Joel and Ellie.
The game also features over 60 different accessibility settings, which is more than the developer was able to provide in The Last of Us Part II. Additionally, the game contains a brand new Audio Description mode, which ensures that everyone is able to enjoy the game and feel included.
On September 2, 2022, The Last of Us Part I will be released on the PlayStation 5.
