The official trailer for Screen Media Films’ upcoming horror thriller Monstrous, which stars Christina Ricci, has been released. In theaters and on video-on-demand, the film is set to release on May 13th.
It begins with a single mother as she and her young son move into a new home in order to begin a new life away from the trauma she experienced while living with her abusive husband. As she and her son are being terrorized by a horrifying creature from the lake, she has no idea that she is about to meet another monster in her life.

Monstrous is a horror film directed by Chris Sivertson and based on a screenplay by Carol Chrest. Among those who appear are Christina Ricci from Yellowjackets, Colleen Camp (Clue), Santino Bernard (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Don Baldaramos (Castle), and Nick Vallelonga from Castle, among others (Green Book).
“When Laura and her seven-year-old son Cody flee their abusive ex-husband and try to settle into a new life in an idyllic and remote lakeside farmhouse,” according to the synopsis, “a terrifying new horror awaits them.” “They are still traumatized, and their physical and mental well-being is being strained to the breaking point as their fragile existence is threatened.”
