You will be able to immediately utilize the pack of avatars that you have chosen and claim once you have done so. You can also change the appearance of your character in the game with the new avatars.
You will be able to select your avatar from the main menu by tapping it to change it once you have unlocked these different avatars, just as you would expect to be able to do right from the beginning of the game.
