Flux Gourmet Releasing Date

Flux Gourmet, a forthcoming black comedy horror film starring Asa Butterfield and Gwendoline Christie, has received its official trailer from IFC Films, which can be seen below. The film is scheduled to premiere on June 24 in select theaters and on video-on-demand services.

Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Asa Butterfield (Sex Education), Fatma Mohamed (The Duke of Burgundy), Makis Papadimitriou (Suntan), Ariane Labed (The Souvenir), and Richard Bremmer (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) star in Flux Gourmet, directed by Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).

As stated in the synopsis, “a sonic collective unable to come up with a name accepts a residency at an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance.” In addition to being embroiled in their own power struggles, the institute’s members Elle di Elle, Billy Rubin, and Lamina Propria are forced to answer to Jan Stevens, whose dysfunctional dynamic is further exacerbated by the fact that they must report to her. During the course of the various rivalries, the Institute’s “dossierge” Stones must endure increasingly difficult stomach problems while simultaneously documenting the collective’s activities. When Elle learns of Stones’ visits to Dr. Glock, the gastroenterologist, she coerces him into participating in her performances in a desperate attempt to be more authentic. In exchange for putting up with the collective’s plans to use his condition for their art, the Stones agree to cooperate, while Jan Stevens goes to war with Elle over creative differences.”

Peter Strickland is responsible for the script and direction of the film. Serena Armitage and Pietro Greppi are in charge of the production.
