Doctor Who: Jodie Whittaker’s Final Adventure

Following the publication of its Easter special, the BBC has officially released the first Doctor Who centennial special teaser for Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor’s imminent final feature-length adventure. This autumn, fans will be able to experience Whittaker’s final journey.

The Master, the Thirteenth Doctor’s greatest foe, will make an appearance in the special with two other villains, the Daleks, and the Cybermen, as shown in the video below. It also teases the return of Doctor Who veterans Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred, who played Tegan and Ace respectively in earlier seasons of the time-traveling drama.

In a statement, showrunner Chris Chibnall stated, “Jodie’s final feature-length adventure has a variety of pleasures and surprises for audiences and fans, not least the return of two of the most popular companions in the show’s history.” “They’ll be assisting the Doctor in her battles against the Master, Daleks, and Cybermen on three fronts in one epic story!” We’ll be honoring the past, present, and future of Doctor Who in a thrilling, dramatic, and poignant send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor as part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations.”

In Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker plays the Thirteenth Doctor, Mandip Gill plays Yasmin Khan, and John Bishop plays Dan in Season 13. Whittaker has planned three last specials before taking her bow, the first two of which are currently accessible to see. As part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations, Jodie’s final feature-length special, in which the Thirteenth Doctor regenerates, will air in autumn 2022.

Chris Chibnall, who is also the showrunner, wrote and executive produced Season 13 of Doctor Who. After Season 13 and the three 2022 specials, he and Whitaker are expected to leave the show. Russell T. Davies, a returning executive producer, and showrunner will follow him.
