The COVID-19 shutdown occurred on March 12, 2020. The director Amy Rice, who was nominated for an Emmy and won the award for directing The Newsroom and HBO’s By the People: The Election of Barack Obama, is the director of the feature-length documentary that chronicles the arduous and inspiring journey that the Broadway community took to return to the stage after the shutdown.
