Elly, played by Lucy Hale, is a young botanist embarking on a research journey that quickly goes astray. She was kidnapped when she saw a drug mule’s plane crash in the Borrego desert, and she was taken on a perilous journey to an isolated drop-off spot. Elly’s basics are limited, and she is trapped in the desert with her captor; as a result, she is driven to the point of desperation to ensure her survival, and she is willing to risk her life to free herself from his grasp before the journey becomes fatal.
