After making a voice cameo appearance in the post-credits sequence of Eternals, Mahershala Ali takes on the role of the titular dhampir and vampire hunter in this Blade relaunch that introduces the character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Blade will appear in a subsequent phase of the MCU. Ali had a recurring role in the Netflix series Luke Cage as the villain Cottonmouth.
