Abby Trent (Michelle Monaghan) is a CIA agent who manages an underground black site facility where dangerous and high-risk detainees are held in captivity. Special Ops brings in a high-value target who is at the top of every Most Wanted list just days before Abby is reassigned to a new position — codename: Hatchet (Jason Clarke). Hatchet is well-known for executing his adversaries in a gruesome manner, and Abby is personally invested in his capture.

When Hatchet manages to escape and begins a bloody game of murdering the site officers one by one, Abby’s carefully laid plans for avenging her husband’s death are thrown into disarray, and she is forced to flee. While Abby and the team track him down, Abby quickly discovers that there are spies operating within the organization who are compromising the mission’s success. As time ticks away, Abby begins to have doubts about everyone around her, prompting the question of whom she can truly rely on.
