In honor of Avatar Day, Disney has released the final trailer for the highly anticipated action sequel Avatar: The Way of Water, produced by 20th Century Studios and directed by the legendary filmmaker James Cameron. On December 16, the epic sequel that lasts for three hours will finally be released in theaters.
The video gives us access to further new footage of Jake and Neytiri’s return to the show. After what seemed like an eternity of quiet, they are forced to engage in another battle for their lives, and this time they have far more at stake than in the first part of the series.

James Cameron is responsible for directing as well as co-writing the sequel. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, and Matt Gerald are among the actors who have reprised their roles in this installment.
In addition to a group of younger actors, the cast also features actors such as Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, and Jemaine Clement. Oona Chaplin is also featured.
According to the official synopsis, “Avatar: The Way of Water” is “set more than a decade after the events of the first film.” It “begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”
There will be a total of three more movies, with the release of Avatar 3 on December 20, 2024, Avatar 4 on December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 on December 22, 2028. All of these dates are only estimates.
