It was released on Friday and features JB, his go-to “Peaches” producer Harv, as well as Avedon, who helped the Nigerian musician knock it out of the park with his latest track. According to Rolling Stone, the song, which is expected to appear on Lay’s upcoming spring debut album Boy Alone, finds the Biebs in uncharted terrain as he croons through his lower register and sings the first verse of the song. However, this isn’t Bieber’s first encounter with Afrobeats; in addition to a handful of collaborations with BEAM in 2021, he also appeared on the official remix for Wizkid’s “Essence.”

This is also not the first time Lay has collaborated with Bieber, as the two previously collaborated on the Masterkraft “Peaches” remix. But the 24-year-old singer is still eager to share more of himself with the world as he prepares to embark on his Boy Alone tour, which will take place two years after his debut EPs Get Layd and What Have We Done launched his career.

Omah Lay spoke with Complex UK last year about the value of living in Lagos, as well as how Nigeria’s influence on popular music is reaching new heights in the country.
