The Angelyne trailer features Emmy Rossum in the role of the Billboard Queen

In anticipation of its upcoming limited drama Angelyne, Peacock has released the official trailer, which features Emmy Rossum, who was nominated for a Golden Globe, as the titular 1980s billboard queen. Thursday, May 19 is set to be the day of its premiere.
The video, which you can watch below, gives a glimpse into the drama’s documentary-style storytelling, as various people from Angelyne’s past are interviewed in an attempt to uncover the truth about her past life. Because she is determined to achieve her goals, the film emphasizes the influence and ascent of the titular figure.

According to the synopsis, “the limited series is about fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.” The series will air on Syfy in the U.S. starting in January.
Angelyne is produced by UCP, with Matt Spider serving as both director and cinematographer. Emmy Rossum, through her Composition 8 company, Sam Esmail, for UCP-based Esmail Corp, Chad Hamilton for Anonymous Content, and The Hollywood Reporter serve as executive producers. Gary Baum will also be serving as a consultant on the miniseries, as previously announced.
